Scott William Dorer, 54, of Rosedale, MD died at Gilchrist Center Towson on August 4, 2024. Scott was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1970 to parents Frank and Mary Dorer, and spent his childhood years fishing with his father. He graduated from Eastern Technical High School in 1989 and joined the Rosedale Volunteer Fire Company in 1988, where he served as Vice President of Project Direction and was a dedicated lifetime member. Scott worked as a crane operator for Local 37 and H&R Construction before attending the Baltimore City Fire Academy in 1999. He then served with various fire departments before settling at Engine 50 in Baltimore City, where he celebrated 25 years of service in February 2024. Scott met the love of his life, Michelle Moser in 1998 at the Hazelwood Inn and they were married July 4th, 2003. The pair welcomed their first and only child, Samantha Renee’ Moser Dorer on December 1st, 2004, and from then on they were a family of 3. (Not including their large zoo of pets that would grow with their daughter.) He spent his days as the pump operator of engine 50 and when not working he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and running his and his father’s shop, Groundhog Bait and Tackle. In 2015 the Dorer family had found their happy place in Fenwick Island, spending the summers from there on out at Treasure Beach RV park where they created cherished memories doing all his favorite things. If you asked Scott what he’s doing on a day off, he’d tell you he’s “hightailing it down the beach”.
